MESAP INTERNATIONALIZATION ACTIVITIES
IoT4Industry project in its final stages
149 proposals received, 40 funded projects, 82 SMEs, 16 industrial sectors and 18 countries involved. These are some of the numbers of IoT4Industry, a European project that, since 2018, has provided €4 million to support European SMEs in the development of projects for the implementation and testing of IoT technologies in the production cycle. The project was defined among the 20 best performing Innosup initiatives and awarded as the best “European Cluster Partnership of the Year” during the European Cluster Conference 2020. Italy is among the most participating countries and 5 of the funded projects include MESAP members in the partnership, among which we mention Astel, Eurodies and Novasis Innovazione. MESAP was the National Contact Point for the project as well as managing partner of the Innovation Vouchers and of the communication and dissemination activities.
Last 5E workshop of the year: a great success!
During the virtual edition of EFECS 2020, the International Forum dedicated to electronic components and systems in Europe, the last 5E workshop of the year took place. More than 90 participants discussed: updates on Horizon Europe’s main destinations, Joint Vision and Meta-Roadmap for European electronics industries, Functional Electronics, Vision Papers on Circular Economy, Energy, Industrial Automation, Sensors and Digital Showcase – a free tool provided by the project to give more visibility to electronic products at European level.
Smart System Integrated®: a tool for recognisability and differentiation managed by MESAP
Smart Systems Integrated® is a collective trademark valid throughout the European Union owned by the EPoSS Technology Platform and managed by the MESAP. It is a distinctive sign to distinguish Smart Systems Integrated products at European level. Companies can apply for a licence to guarantee their product’s specific technical and quality characteristics. Licensed companies are entitled to free membership of the EPoSS Technology Platform for one year. To join this agreement or find out more: email@example.com.
The Boost4BSO Interreg Central Europe project, which started in April 2020, aims to create a “toolbox” for BSOs to support companies in their digital transformation journey. The meetings held in recent months were an opportunity to illustrate the opportunities and barriers that SMEs encounter in this process and to talk together about servitization, the process by which a company that produces and sells goods or products transforms them into services for the market.
European projects: news and updates
In addition to the ongoing EU projects, MESAP also worked on writing new project proposals this year. Here is a brief overview:
MIND4MACHINES, INNOSUP to facilitate cross-sectoral collaborations between manufacturing SMEs and help them adopt digital technologies.
CRITERIA, COSME Go International with focus on the Automotive sector with the aim of creating synergies – both business and technological – at international level, through B2B initiatives with identified target countries. FACTIONARY, INNOSUP with the aim of assisting SMEs in their growth of competence in the field of Industry 4.0, improving their skills and performance and facilitating access to support structures.
Fingers crossed awaiting the outcome of these proposals…
DigiCirc: European call dedicated to circular economy
DigiCirc is an H2020 INNOSUP project aimed at promoting the circular economy in support of European businesses. The project foresees 3 Acceleration Programmes in the period 2020-2022, with €2.4 million in cascade funding for SMEs. With its first Circular Cities call, dedicated to innovative solutions in the field of circular cities, DigiCirc will select a minimum of 15 consortia, composed of at least 2 startups/SMEs. Selected consortia will receive direct funding of up to €20,000 and will integrate an innovation support programme. The call is open until 14 January 2021.
ECS Brokerage Event 2021
The virtual ECS Brokerage Event 2021, 12-13 January 2021, combines the brokerage activities of the industry associations AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS into a digital networking event dedicated to project proposals in the field of Electronic Components and Systems. The event will bring together all project proposals and experts, making it easier for the ECS research community to find and create project partners and proposals. MESAP will participate as a member of EPoSS and as a partner in the 5E project.
